WHO ARE WE?

Clifton's Historic Botany District, Inc.

Clifton's Historic Botany District, Inc, is the management organization appointed by the Clifton City Council to manage the Special Improvement District (SID) approved by the Council in March of 2005.  The New Clifton's Historic Botany District, Inc, is non profit corporation registered with the State of NJ which includes Businessmen, Property Owners, and Residents with a planned goal to Improve the Botany Village District Area.

The SID is a Special Tax that is paid by All Property Owners except Owner Occupied One and Two Family Homes within the Botany District. The money collected from this Tax is collected by the City of Clifton and Returned to Clifton's Historic Botany District, Inc. (C.H.B.D.) to be used only in the Botany District to improve the Village area. Security and Safer, Cleaner streets are the Number 1 Priority of the C.H.B.D. A Streetscape Program is also planned as well as other ideas to promote the Botany District. All decisions are made by an elected Board of Directors and implemented by a Hired Management Team. The Budget and Work Plan needs to be approved Yearly by the Clifton City Council.

Through out the year the C.H.B.D. Inc. has Special Events Planned.

The Botany Village Merchants Association

Reorganized as the Botany Village Merchants Association by the Late Perry Iomazzo in the early 1990's the Merchants Association was and remains a group of Businessmen and Professionals who worked to Improve Botany Village. The BVMA works directly with C.H.B.D. Inc. to help raise funds. The annual Labor Day Week-End Carnival is run by the BVMA and all proceeds go for Christmas Gift for the Children of the Area at the Holidays along with a host of other events that the SID should not and does not cover like the Annual Holiday Party Open to All District Residents every year.

Look forward to an Improved Botany Area!
