Holiday Door Decorating Contest

Enter the City of Clifton's Holiday Door Decorating Contest.  Deadline for registering is Friday, December 4th.  Decorate your door for the Holidays with family and friends. Doors must be ready for judging by Monday, December 7thYou will be contacted via email to inform you when the preliminary judging will take place (when registering let us know if you need to be notified about preliminary judging by phone instead of email). We cannot return to see doors if they have not been completed on time. After that date a second visit will take place for final judging. You do not have to be home when judging takes place. Winners will be contacted by phone after judging is completed.  All participants receive a small gift for entering the contest.  The grand prize will go to the door that is awarded the “Best in Town” title.  Additional winners will be selected based on various categories such as Most Colorful, Most Creative, Old Fashioned Christmas, Most Unusual and Best Child Creation.  You do not need to choose a specific category when registering unless you are entering the “Child Creation” (a door that is completely created and constructed by a child/children) category.  Register online or at the Recreation Office. Online registration ends 12/4/15.

Family Trip-A Longwood Christmas

Join the Clifton Recreation Department on Saturday, December 5th as we enjoy the spirit of the holiday season which overflows duringa Longwood Christmas with their fountain inspired display.  Explore the warm 4-acre conservatory and be mesmerized by thousands of blue and white twinkling lights, 14 whirling fountain features, and more than 50 trees adorned with icicles and other frosty glass ornaments. In addition, participants can enjoy organ sing-alongs throughout the day.  Outside, get swept away in a magical world of a half-million lights strung on 40 miles of wire glowing in the trees.  From their Italian Water Garden illuminated with a 20-foot tree form, to a maple tree with its roots aglow near their Meadow Boardwalk, to the colorful fountains of their Open Air Theatre dancing to the sounds of the season presenting the colors of a Christmas rainbow, there is holiday magic everywhere!  The bus will leave from City Hall at 9:30 am and return to City Hall at approximately 9:15 pm.  The price per ticket is $79.00 per adult/senior and $74.00 per child which includes transportation, supervision, entry ticket to Longwood Gardens (Kennett Square, PA) and a $15.00 food voucher for the Terrace Restaurant at Longwood Gardens.  All meals are on your own.  There is a gift shop on site. Clifton Candyland Festival

Polar Express Train Ride, Candy Cane Hunt, Santa Visit, Food For Purchase & Much More!
Join us for an adventure through Clifton Candyland – a land of train rides, candy canes,  holiday crafts, games, refreshments (additional food will be available for purchase) and of course a visit from SANTA CLAUS. The Recreation Department along with the Clifton National League will sponsor this event just in time for the holidays.  Bundle up in your hat, mittens, scarf and blanket as you ride along on the Polar Express train, bounce around & enjoy the rides in our reindeer flight school and have the time of your life in this winter wonderland.

PRE-REGISTRATION is required and can be done online or at the Recreation Office.  The cost is $5.00 per person (parents & children need a wristband) and includes all of the activities listed.  Participants must pick up wristbands at the registration tent on the night of the event upon arrival.  Online registration ends on 12/10/15. On the day of the event, if space is still available, tickets cost $8.00 per person.  Activities will continuously run during the event hours.
